Ben really has a way of getting right down to brass tax with his cartoons. I think this says everything that needs to be said about 2016 campaign scandals.
New Computer Program Blurs The Line Between Digital And Reality:
Remember the old saying your mother taught you? "Believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see..." Unfortunately, I believe we have reached a time when we can believe none of what we hear and NONE of what we see.
A new computer program developed by researchers at the University of Washington, creates video of ex-President Barrack Obama giving a presidential address, with only audio input. This means that people using the program can plug in an audio quote of Obama (or anyone really) and out the other end, comes an incredibly polished video in a Presidential address-like fashion.
Until now, video lip-syncing involved hours of filming and editing. But the computer program can create a clip with new audio after analysing one hour of speech rather than 14.
It uses artificial intelligence to analyse existing videos online or elsewhere and create realistic simulations from them, taking into account mouth shapes and sound patterns.
The tool could be used to manipulate videos to create realistic-looking fake clips. But it can only put audio spoken by a person into their mouth.
This new technology comes only months after a Canadian startup created software called Lyrebird- a program that is said to be able to emulate any human voice. The samples aren't stunning, but in just a few months or years, these kinds of Artificial Intelligence programs WILL be able to fool even the most expirenced Audio Engineer or Video Producer.
At a time when Fake News is more pervasive than ever, I frequently find myself questioning everything I THINK I know... Everything, of course, except my Catholic Faith.
The words of Mark Twain come to mind: “If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.” Well, when it comes to Newsradio WHLM, you won't have to worry about being mis-informed. We are your oasis for real news, in this digital sea of filth and lies.
Reaching Levels Of Sexual Degeneracy We Never Thought Possible:
It may be time for Right-Wing Death Squads to raid Silicon Valley, because this is getting WAYYY out of hand.
Instead of putting our rapidly expanding knowledge of science, technology, artificial intelligence and robotics to good use, improving the lives of Americans and those all over the world, our pre-occupation with sex has taken a turn for the worst. Sex Robots.
You may not be aware of just how much sex has influenced our culture, but let me bring you a little refresher... Do you remember BetaMax video?
If you don't, it's ok. It was a long time ago... But what you may not know is that BetaMax had better resolution and quality than VHS tapes. Why did popular culture go with VHS then? The pornography industry adopted VHS as it's primary vehicle for distributing their smut. Once that decision was made, it was case closed.
According to a 1996 essay by scholarly lawyer Peter Johnson:
"Throughout the history of new media, from vernacular speech to movable type, to photography, to paperback books, to videotape, to cable and pay-TV, to '900' phone lines, to the French Minitel, to the Internet, to CD-ROMs and laser discs, pornography has shown technology the way."
Dr Aimee van Wynsberghe, assistant professor in ethics and technology at the Technical University of Delft and FRR co-director, said: “There are absolutely some benefits to the technology but, like everything else, there is a balance. You have to strike a balance between lack of regulation – so we have all different uses and personifications of children and women as sexual objects – or you have overregulation and you stifle the technology. You have to find the way to balance so you really can harness the good.”
Personifications of children.... Ok, hold that thought...
Within three decades people will no longer be having sex to procreate, a professor from Stanford University has said.
Hank Greely, the director of Stanford’s Law School’s Center for Law and the Biosciences, believes the reproductive process will begin with parents choosing from a range of embryos created in a lab with their DNA.
What happened to just having sex like a normal human being? What about getting married? Have we taken the sexual revolution of the 1960's too far? Where does this end? For a little insight into the sexual revolution, you can start here.
Pelosi Is Losing It - Can't Remember Who President Is Multiple Times:
6 months into President Trump's Reign over the New American Empire, and Nancy Pelosi still thinks George W. Bush is still President. Makes you wonder if she needs help tying her shoes..
