Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble
If you don't think there's anything to do in Bloomsburg this first weekend of the holiday season... think again. Following Friday night's 3rd annual WHLM Parade of Light... the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble kicks off their first performance of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”... at the Alvina Krause Theater on Centre Street. Ticket prices for tonight's performance is 5 dollars each.... but BTE's Richie Cannaday says Saturday's admission price is pretty reasonable. By just showing up with a can of food... you get into the theater free. The first performance of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” begins at 7-30 Friday night... with shows running every weekend through December 29th.
Run for the Diamonds
Canadian Derek Nakluski held off last year's winner, C. Fred Joslyn, to finish first in the 103rd Run for the Diamonds Thursday in Berwick. Nakluski finished 11 seconds before Josyln in the annual nine mile road race. In the women's competition, former Penn State runner Kara Millhouse took the first place diamond pendant finishing 9 seconds head of last year's winner, Katie O'Regan. Over 1,700 runners competed in Thursday's event in near perfect conditions.
