The Bloomsburg Fair is in full swing this weekend. The fairgrounds are filled with agricultural and craft exhibits, food vendors, rides and games, free entertainment and big name shows. The fair runs this weekend through next Saturday.
On Monday, the Bloomsburg public library hosts toddler time at 9:15 AM. The program is for your children ages eighteen months to three years.
The free Wheel Chair Engineers Train program will be open at the Columbia Mall from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Monday. You can help improve the train layout, which is wheel chair accessible.
There’s a blood drive on Monday at the Berwick Hospital Center from 10:00 am to 3:00 PM.
Wednesday the Bloomsburg Christian Church free library will be open from 9:30 Am to 4:00 PM. The church is located on Duessen Drive off of Route 11 South in Bloomsburg.
Thursday at the Bloomsburg Public Library it’s the Lonely Sock Club at 6:30 PM. The craft group will be making cornhusk dolls…all materials will be provided.
And also from the WHLM Future File next Thursday…the Bloomsburg University Gender Studies Minor Foreign Film Series will showcase “The Whistleblower.” The film starts at 7:00 PM in McCormick Hall on the BU Campus.
The last time George Curry walked the sidelines at Spartan Stadium, he was the head football coach of Wyoming Valley West. Friday night he was on the opposite sideline leading his Bulldogs as they attempted to break WVW's winning streak against them. Unfortunately for Berwick, the Spartans made it a 5-game streak as they came out on top of a hard-fought game 33-15.
Game of Week
The Panthers of Bloomsburg secured their third straight win Friday night when they beat Jersey Shore at Panther Stadium in our game of the week. The Mercy Rule came into effect early in the game, the final was 35-13.
High School Football
Southern Columbia, Central Columbia, and Danville all remained unbeaten Friday night. Southern beat South Williamsport 42-21, Central beat Milton 21-8, and Danville beat Mifflinburg 23-13.
BU Huskies Football
In college ball Saturday afternoon, Bloomsburg U traveled to Long Island to face LIU Post, who defeated the Huskies last year in a driving October snowstorm.
