Former Holy Redeemer head coach and Berwick freshmen coach Scott Dennis takes over as head coach of the Bluejays replacing Jason Hippensteel who stepped down after last season. Dennis was really impressed with the turnout and effort of his new team in the offseason. He has put together a coaching staff which includes Jason Kalbach, E.J. Smith, Nate Johnson, Mike Hall, and Mike Downs.
Last season, Central Columbia was just 1-9, but they had some good young talent like inside linebackers Cy Seasholtz and Isaac Gensemer who both started on varsity as freshmen. Seasholtz had 86 tackles. That duo could also see considerable action as running backs this season. Starting quarterback Aaron Farver, who has good size and speed, is back and looked very good this summer. One of his targets will be wide receiver Jensen Thivirege,
Up front the Bluejays have some good size in linemen Nick Spicier and Mike Devlin. Central Columbia is a team that should be much improved this season. The Bluejays will be competing in Division 3 of the Heartland Conference where they will be joined by neighborhood rival Bloomsburg along with Loyalsock, Hughesville, Warrior Run, and South Williamsport. In District 4 they will compete with Southern Columbia and Bloomsburg in Class AA.
